Dear Parents,

Thank you for taking the time to review our webpage. It is sincerely a great honor to be serving as your superintendent and I look forward to working with all of our parents as we endeavor to make this a successful school year for all students. One of my goals this year is to provide timely updates via our webpage on issues relating to the performance of our school district.

As many of you know, I am serving as the superintendent of both the elementary and the high school districts and we are working on the possible unification of those districts. An important public hearing was held on October 21, 2009 to address the topic of unification. At that meeting, the Inyo County Committe on School District Organization (Inyo County School Board of Trustees) voted unanimously to approve the unification of our two school districts. On November 19th, 2009 the State Board of Education will take action on two waivers that could pave the way for our two districts to merge as of July 1, 2010. This is an exciting time for our schools as this unification will generate additional funding in excess of $500,000. Those additional funds can and will be used to enhance the educational program at Bishop Schools.

Homecoming Week is upon us! I would like to offer my congratulations to all of the students selected for this year's homecoming court! This is truly a great honor that I am sure you will cherish for the rest of your lives. I will see you all on Friday Night for our Homecoming Celebration! Go Broncos!

Please continue to check our website for important updates and information related to school district performance.
